Champion School Award

The LtL Outdoor Learning & Play Champion School Award is exclusively available to LtL School Members. Through a programme of staff training, consultation, and evaluation, your school will be fully supported to achieve Champion School status – the highest award we give to schools to reflect outstanding provision of outdoor learning and play.

Our Champion School Award is only available to LtL members – sign up now.

Award format

In order to be awarded Champion School status, your school will need to complete the following within a 24 month period. Remember that as an LtL School Member, you receive a 25% discount on one in-person session and a 50% discount on all online training.

One Foundations training course (see below)
One subject-based training course (see below)
One play or activity training course (see below)
One Advisory Visit (see below)
One leadership planning and consultation session (in-person or online)
One staff progress and feedback check-in (in-person or online)
Submission of school policy for outdoor learning and play
Submission of school grounds development plan

Primary Foundations Outdoors

This course for the whole staff team helps primary schools build a shared vision for outdoor learning.

After award

In order to retain Champion School status, your school will need to complete the following by the end of the following calendar year:

One refresher training session for school staff (in-person)
One leadership planning and consultation session (in-person or online)
Submission of school policy for outdoor learning and play
Submission of school grounds development plan

Schools that achieve Champion School status will, with permission, be featured on our website and wider communications.
