Content

The Early Years Maths Outdoors course structure covers the following:

  • Looking at your use of outdoor space and resources to facilitate the learning and teaching of maths
  • Considering how to provide a range of challenging educator and child led maths activities outdoors
  • Exploring practical examples of activities that support children using and applying mathematics in context
  • Taking time to co-plan your changes and strategy

This is a full day, practical course with elements of group work in the classroom, but a significant proportion is outdoors. This includes periods of activity and standing, and being outdoors in all weather for extended periods. Please come dressed for the weather and conditions.

A dated certificate of attendance will be provided to all attendees by email.

Booking

Please note that this course is designed to be delivered as a full day session, although the same content can also be delivered across two half day sessions or three twilight sessions. Alternatively, we can run shorter versions of the training in a half day or twilight session. This training can also be combined with other training courses, such as Early Years Foundations Outdoors or Early Years Literacy Outdoors.

The costs below are based on one trainer delivering training for up to 20 staff. For larger numbers of staff, we can provide extra trainers for an additional cost.
