Early Years Foundations Outdoors is for a whole early years setting to train as a team together, developing staff confidence and skills, as well as the spaces and resources used for outdoor learning and play.
This practical training course involves the whole staff team, building on their ideas, assessing their current practice, and addressing common obstacles to delivering effective outdoor learning and play.

Content
The Early Years Foundations Outdoors course structure covers the following:
- Building a shared vision and values for play outdoors in early years
- Exploring how to start thinking about and planning for developing fantastic outdoor spaces for play and learning
- Supporting staff confidence, skills, and knowledge
- Experiencing first-hand fun, simple provocations and behaviours to make the most of children’s play outdoors
This course is appropriate for England (under EYFS outdoor provision), Scotland (under Curriculum for Excellence, Building the Ambition and Blueprint 2020 / 1140 hours for outdoor learning and play), Wales (under the Foundation Learning Curriculum), and Northern Ireland (under the Early Years Strategy).
This is a full day, practical course with elements of group work in the classroom, but a significant proportion is outdoors. This includes periods of activity and standing, and being outdoors in all weather for extended periods. Please come dressed for the weather and conditions.
A dated certificate of attendance will be provided to all attendees by email.

Booking
The course typically costs £595.00 + VAT for a full day for up to 20 attendees. Alternatively, we can deliver a shorter half day version of the course for £435 + VAT. The training can also be delivered across 2-3 twilight sessions, costing £345 + VAT per session.
