Details
The Lead Teacher in Outdoor Learning Course is aimed at teachers who would like to develop the outdoor learning culture in their school. The two-day course aims to equip practitioners with practical skills, knowledge and understanding to embed outdoor learning across their setting or whole school community.
Participants will:
Explore the value of outdoor learning within the school community and beyond, promoting and emphasising its importance for holistic pupil development.
Consider how to create a supportive environment: fostering a culture where teachers feel encouraged to experiment with outdoor teaching methods and share their experiences with each other with support from senior management.
Look at designing curriculum plans to utilise outdoor space in your setting to enhance learning experiences within your policy context.
Be provided with support and resources: guidance, lesson ideas and access to outdoor learning materials to help them feel prepared and confident.
Participants should come dressed for the weather as elements of the course will be outdoors. They should also bring a packed lunch or there is a café at the training venue.
