On the 19th and 20th March 2024, we will be running a practical and comprehensive First Aid Training Course in Stirling, ideal for teachers and early years practitioners, outdoor instructors and youth workers.
With a total of 16 hours’ training, this course meets both First Aid at Work and most outdoor learning National Governing Body requirements.
The course is run by John Owen, a highly experienced educator, mountain leader, medical technician and first aider who is accredited by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA).
John will teach you the essential skills and knowledge to deal with common injuries and illnesses, with a focus on children and young people. You will learn how to assess, treat and manage casualties in a variety of scenarios, using realistic simulations and scenarios.

Venues and timing
The training event takes place on 19th-20th March 2024 from 9:00-17:00 each day.
The venue address is Dumyat Room, Scion House, Stirling University Innovation Park, Stirling, FK9 4NF.
The university offers all of the facilities we will need, including excellent outdoor space which we will make use of during the course. All facilities are fully accessible.
Attendees do require suitable outdoor clothing for any weather foreseeable, including wet and cold conditions. While we will adapt the course as needed to extremes of weather, we do not expect to alter the plan.
