Outdoor Classroom Day: An exciting announcement
We’re delighted to announce that Learning through Landscapes are the proud new guardians of Outdoor Classroom Day!
Outdoor Classroom Day is a global campaign to celebrate outdoor learning and play. On the day, thousands of schools around the world step outside, showing how easy it is to take learning and play into the outdoor classroom — and how rewarding it is for both pupils and their teachers.
As the UK’s leading outdoor learning and play charity, Learning through Landscapes (LtL) has been closely involved with Outdoor Classroom Day since its inception 10 years ago, delivering the campaign in the UK and Ireland since 2017. Globally, Outdoor Classroom Day has grown to cover more than 180 countries with over 12 million children getting involved — an incredible achievement!
The next stage of our Outdoor Classroom Day journey
Now, Learning through Landscapes are excited to bring over 30 years of knowledge and expertise to the campaign as we take Outdoor Classroom Day forwards, helping even more children and young people enjoy the benefits of learning and playing outdoors. Carley Sefton, our CEO, said:
LtL are delighted to have the opportunity to take over the guardianship of Outdoor Classroom Day. It’s a campaign we passionately believe in and we have been very proud of what it’s achieved. We are so excited about the future of Outdoor Classroom Day and working with you all to grow this amazing campaign to reach even more children around the world.
We want to thank everyone who has supported Outdoor Classroom Day, including the team at ActionFunder who led the global campaign over the last few years. We’re grateful to all of the partner organisations who have delivered the campaign in their respective countries, and we look forward to working with many of you as we take Outdoor Classroom Day forwards.
