Beelines Project – School Workshops
The Beelines Project offered fully funded outdoor learning workshops to inspire and equip teachers to lead changes for pollinators in school grounds. Attendees heard from experts in the field and undertook practical, child-friendly outdoor activities to assess how school grounds might be improved for pollinators, looking specifically at soil, planting, ecology, and creative learning activities.
Attendees were supported with free resources to use in schools, and were also offered the opportunity to apply for financial support to make changes to school grounds within the South Downs National Park.Â

How it works
Teachers have told us that assessing their own environments and making changes can “move young people from pollinator extinction frustration to action, enabling students to understand the issues in more depth and link to solutions”.
By attending the Beelines Project workshops, teachers:
- learned how to apply for the funding support through the Beelines project;
- were inspired and equipped to lead curricular linked outdoor learning sessions and make changes for pollinators in school grounds; and
- were supplied with free resources to use in school, adaptable for all age groups.
