We are delighted to share that our film, ‘Building’ Confidence Through Outdoor Learning, has been shortlisted in the 2023 Smiley Charity Film Awards! The awards highlight the people and organisations doing good in the world by celebrating films made by charities across all causes.
Our film celebrates pupils at the Polygon School in Southampton who, with our help and support, built a storytelling throne as part of our ‘This Place is Like a Building Site!’ project.
Funded by the John Laing Charitable Trust, ‘This Place is Like a Building Site!’ gives primary school pupils the opportunity to learn new skills while creating a substantial wooden feature for their school grounds. The project supports children to thrive and achieve through practical experiential learning and contribution to a shared construction project. Additionally, it supports teachers to develop the confidence and skills to lead similar work in the future.
Our film has made the shortlist, but now we need your help! It’s up to the judges to pick the overall winners, but your vote could still earn us a coveted ‘People’s Choice’ award!
