What to expect

This full-day, in-person training is tailored to your school’s needs and delivered by experienced LtL trainers. The day includes:

Active warm-ups: Start with movement-based maths games like Angle Aerobics and Brain Gym to energise and engage
Making maths meaningful: Explore how real-world contexts and outdoor experiences can deepen mathematical understanding
Hands-on activities: Try estimation challenges, human clocks, nature-based number games, and tree-measuring techniques
Curriculum-linked tasks: Cover key areas including Number, Money and Measure; Shape, Position and Movement; Fractions; Patterns; and Data
Planning and reflection: Work to develop lesson ideas and future-proof outdoor maths in your school

All activities are adaptable for different age groups and designed to be resource-light, inclusive, and achievable in any outdoor space.

Flexible delivery options

The full Primary Maths Outdoors course can be delivered in a way that works for your school. The prices below are for a group of up to 20 staff with one trainer:

One full day: £655 + VAT
Two half days: £960 + VAT (£480 + VAT per session)
Three twilight sessions: £1,140 + VAT (£380 + VAT per session)

We can also run shorter versions of the training across one half day session or one or two twilight sessions.

For larger groups, additional trainers can be provided at an additional cost. This training can also be combined with other courses as part of a Whole School Approach programme.
