This course is ideal for an early years setting (or group of settings) looking to explore the opportunities that outdoor spaces offer for early maths learning.

Content

The Early Years Maths Outdoors course structure covers the following:

  • Looking at your use of outdoor space and resources to facilitate the learning and teaching of maths
  • Considering how to provide a range of challenging educator and child led maths activities outdoors
  • Exploring practical examples of activities that support children using and applying mathematics in context
  • Taking time to co-plan your changes and strategy

This is a full day, practical course with elements of group work in the classroom, but a significant proportion is outdoors. This includes periods of activity and standing, and being outdoors in all weather for extended periods. Please come dressed for the weather and conditions.

A dated certificate of attendance will be provided to all attendees by email.
