Early Years Literacy Outdoors
Using the rich stimulus of the outdoor environment, Early Years Literacy Outdoors looks at creating spaces and professional practice that encourage conversation, cooperative play, and imagination in young children. Tailored to either EYFS Literacy or CfE Literacy, this course is ideal for an early years setting (or group of settings) looking to explore the opportunities that outdoor spaces offer for early literacy learning.

Content
The Early Years Literacy Outdoors course structure covers the following:
- Developing outdoor spaces using low cost, flexible or natural resources that support literacy development
- Exploring a variety of games, activities, and behaviours that encourage literacy development
- Building confidence and staff skills in facilitating literacy through play
This is a full day, practical course with elements of group work in the classroom, but a significant proportion is outdoors. This includes periods of activity and standing, and being outdoors in all weather for extended periods. Please come dressed for the weather and conditions.
A dated certificate of attendance will be provided to all attendees by email.
