A year of outdoor homework

This outdoor homework resource gives you 33 tasks over the school year for homework. It is aimed at middle primary, but can easily adapted to older or younger ages.

Our aim with this resource is to encourage children outdoors with their families in all seasons in places they find familiar. Through this we support children who understand and care about their local environment, and can start making connections to bigger global issues.

Our outdoor lesson ideas and play activities are created by educators who understand the barriers teachers and practitioners face when taking learning and play outdoors. Alongside the main activity, we have included ideas for extensions and/or applications to help you meet learning outcomes across a range of additional subject areas and topics.

We know you will tailor these activities to the learning needs of your pupils, and we encourage you to use our lesson ideas as inspiration rather than instruction. Feel free to take it, break it, and make it your own!
