Our impact

See how our work is creating lasting change in outdoor learning, play, and nature connection for children and educators.

Since 1990, Learning through Landscapes has worked to ensure every child has access to meaningful outdoor learning and play. Our impact spans thousands of schools and early years settings across the UK and beyond — improving outcomes for children, young people, and educators. Through funding, training, and advocacy, we’ve helped embed outdoor learning into education systems and supported the transformation of school grounds into vibrant, inclusive spaces for exploration, connection, and growth.

A legacy of support

Over the past three decades, we’ve directed more than £35 million to schools and early years settings to enhance outdoor learning and play. This funding has enabled thousands of educators to create safe, engaging, and inspiring outdoor environments for their pupils.

Training that transforms practice

Around 10% of schools and early years settings in the UK have received face-to-face training from our expert team. These sessions build confidence, develop skills, and empower educators to take learning outside — making outdoor education a regular and valued part of school life.

Reaching millions of children

Our work has positively impacted an estimated 17.5 million children and young people. From national programmes to local initiatives, we focus on reaching those who spend the least time in nature, helping to foster stronger connections with the natural world

Join us in making a difference

We’re proud of the progress we’ve made — but there’s still more to do. If you’re interested in working with us to help even more children and young people enjoy the benefits of outdoor learning and play, get in touch.
