DESCRIPTION:Details\n\n\nThe Lead Teacher in Outdoor Learning Course is aimed at primary school teachers who would like to develop the outdoor learning culture in their school. The two-day course aims to equip practitioners with practical skills\, knowledge and understanding to embed outdoor learning across their setting or whole school community. \nParticipants will: \n\n Explore the value of outdoor learning within the school community and beyond\, promoting and emphasising its importance for holistic pupil development.\n\nConsider how to create a supportive environment: fostering a culture where teachers feel encouraged to experiment with outdoor teaching methods and share their experiences with each other with support from senior management.\n Look at designing curriculum plans to utilise outdoor space in your setting to enhance learning experiences within your policy context.\n Be provided with support and resources: guidance\, lesson ideas and access to outdoor learning materials to help them feel prepared and confident.\n\nParticipants should come dressed for the weather as elements of the course will be outdoors. SUMMARY:Forest Kindergarten Course (Glasgow August 2026)
DESCRIPTION:Details\n\n\nThe Forest Kindergarten qualification has been designed specifically to meet the needs of Early Years practitioners who would like to use outdoor spaces for learning and play on a regular basis. During this course\, candidates will be trained and equipped with all the knowledge and processes they need to be able to deliver Forest Kindergarten sessions within their own setting. \nThis is a National Workplace Award\, credited at Scottish Credit Qualifications Framework (SCQF) Level 7. This qualification is equivalent to National Vocational Qualification Level 4 or Higher National Certificate (HNC)\, and is relevant anywhere in the UK (and beyond). Compare qualification levels on the Qualifications Scotland website. \nUpon completion of this course\, your nursery or early years setting will also be qualified to display the Learning through Landscapes Forest Kindergarten accreditation logo on your website. \nPlease note that ticket sales close one week before the event starts. Please see our open course booking terms & conditions. \n\n\nProgramme\n\n\n— Registration and pre-course reading.\n— A 3-day interactive course which includes practical activities\, observation of children and professionals\, and input and training on specific issues.\n— A post-course portfolio of work which aims to ensure that candidates have the knowledge and processes in place to run their own Forest Kindergarten.\n— Submission of the portfolio for marking by an LtL assessor. A successful assessment will lead to awarding of a Qualifications Scotland & LtL Forest Kindergarten qualification\, with digital and physical certificate. \n\n\nOn the day\n\n\nCandidates will be supplied with a Qualifications Scotland Workbook\, wider resources\, and all assessment materials. \nCandidates do require suitable outdoor clothing for any weather foreseeable\, including wet and cold conditions. While we will adapt the course as needed to extremes of weather\, we do not expect to alter the plan. \n\n\n\nVenues and timing\n\n\nThe training event takes place on 5th – 7th August 2026 from 9:00-16:00 each day. \nThe venue address is Rockfield Nursery School & Duntarvie Pre-School Assessment Centre\, 70 Rockfield Rd\, Glasgow G21 3DZ. \nThe venue offers all of the facilities we will need\, including excellent outdoor space which we will make use of during the course.
